It was almost bedtime. Model #045 turned on its planning circuits and began to write the plan for tomorrow to the hard disc. Model #045 could see itself as though from the outside. Model #045 was in standby mode. Model #045 activated itself at the proper time. "I must activate myself," Model #045 "I must activate myself at the proper time." Model #045 was in the robot closet. "I must open the door," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door." Model #045 was in the robot hallway with the other robots. "I must not collide with the other robots," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots." Model #045 was at the elevator. "I must go down six floors," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors." Model #045 was at the lobby. "I must get the morning robocast," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors and I must get the morning robocast." Model #045 was on the street. "I must get a cab," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors and I must get the morning robocast and I must get a cab." In the cab, Model #045 was passing a poster advertising the Tricky concert that night at the Clorox Robot Arena. "I must get tickets for Tricky," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors and I must get the morning robocast and I must get tickets for Tricky." Model #045 began reviewing the robocast. "I must review the robocast," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors and I must get the morning robocast and I must get tickets for Tricky and I must review the robocast." Getting out of the cab Model #045 saw a puppy. "I must greet the puppy," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors and I must get the morning robocast and I must get tickets for Tricky and I must review the robocast and I must greet the puppy." Model #045 could not get the puppy to go away. "I must find the puppy's owner," Model #045 thought. "I must activate myself at the proper time and I must open the door and I must not collide with other robots and I must go down six floors and I must get the morning robocast and I must get tickets for Tricky and I must review the robocast and I must greet the puppy and I must find the puppy's owner." Model #045 turned off its planning circuit. "Whew!" it thought. "That is nine things already! No need to fill up more space than that!" And Model #045 went into the robot closet and put itself into standby mode like all good little boys and girls do.
