She is a more capable swimmer than most other robots, merely due to the fact that she can swim at all.

It was one of those Thursday mornings where the air fell down on your shoulders like warm honey. The chief Robot Designer walked to work past the white picket fences and the green green laws. He thought about all the money he had saved by designing robots that could not swim. "Who needs a swimming robot?" he asked himself, and before he could finish he interrupted himself to say "No one!" He was a block away from his office when he saw the robots looking over the edge of the pier. "What is it, robots?" he called as he walked up. "Oh, chief!" the robots said. "Your daughter! She fell in the water! She admired the otter but it rapidly caught her and immediately fought her!" The chief Robot Designer looked over the side at the little scraps of dress that hung from the hungry otter's mouth as he floated confidently on his back. He looked back at the robots. "Was there... nothing you could do?" The robots looked back as sadly as their programming allowed. "Chief... we are not programmed to swim." That night, over his tears, the chief Robot Designer made a little metal girl to which he gave his daughter's name. And although the world would call it "Anny", the true name of the first swimming robot was given to it by a man who so loved his creations that he thought of them as his own children. Like his daughter, Model #022. A name fit for a child... from the Twlight Zone.
